How to migrate from Shopify to Bagisto

Migrating an online store is one of the trickiest migrations: besides the catalog, you need to protect product-URL SEO and not lose orders in progress.

  1. 1

    Export the catalog from Shopify

Export products, variants, images and categories to CSV. Include each product's SKU — you'll need it to avoid duplicating references on import.

  2. 2

Import the catalog into Bagisto in a staging environment

Before touching the production store, import the catalog into a separate Bagisto instance and check that prices, stock and images look correct.

  3. 3

    Reconnect payment gateway and shipping

Payment integrations (Stripe, PayPal) and shipping don't migrate — reconfigure them in Bagisto and place a real end-to-end test order before launching.

  4. 4

    Redirect the old URLs

Set up 301 redirects from Shopify's product URLs to their equivalents in Bagisto so you don't lose accumulated SEO ranking.

Before cancelling Shopify

Before cancelling Shopify, export the full order and customer history — many tax obligations require keeping those records for years.

These steps are a general guideline — the exact export menu can vary depending on Shopify's plan and version.
