How to migrate from Salesforce to SuiteCRM

Contacts and deals migrate reasonably well via CSV; what almost always gets lost is activity history (calls, logged emails) and marketing automations.

  1. 1

Export contacts, companies and deals from Salesforce

Export each object (contacts, accounts, deals/opportunities) separately to CSV, including each record's unique identifier so you can re-link them afterward.

  2. 2

Set up the pipeline in SuiteCRM before importing

Create the same sales pipeline stages and custom fields in SuiteCRM that you used in Salesforce — if they don't exist at import time, that data will be lost or dumped into a generic field.

  3. 3

    Import and link the relationships

Import companies first, then contacts, then deals last, using the unique identifier so SuiteCRM links each deal to its correct contact and company.

  4. 4

    Recreate marketing/sales automations

Email sequences and auto-assignment rules don't migrate — document what you use in Salesforce and recreate them manually in SuiteCRM.

Before cancelling Salesforce

Before cancelling Salesforce, also export the activity history (calls, notes, logged emails) even if you can't import it directly — it's useful as a reference archive.

These steps are a general guideline — the exact export menu can vary depending on Salesforce's plan and version.
